Yash's 'Toxic' Unveils 'Ladies & Ladies' Female Cast Video
The glimpse introduces the five leading women of Geetu Mohandas's film, which releases worldwide on August 26.
CHENNAI, July 1 — The makers of "Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups," the Yash-led film directed by Geetu Mohandas, on Wednesday released "Ladies & Ladies," a glimpse video introducing the film's five leading women, ahead of the film's worldwide theatrical release on August 26.
Production house KVN Productions shared the video across its social media channels, timing the release for 11:33 AM after a day of teaser posts on the platform. The clip marks the first substantial look at the film's female ensemble, which had until now received only individual character posters.
Five leads front and centre
The video features Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth, and Huma Qureshi, each shown in a separate stylised sequence within the film's period setting. According to the makers, the glimpse positions the five actors in central, layered roles rather than conventional supporting parts, framed by a female voice-over.
"Love makes monsters of women," the voice-over says in the clip, per trade outlets that reviewed the video. The glimpse also opens with a tongue-in-cheek age disclaimer warning younger viewers away, reinforcing the mature tone signalled by the film's subtitle.
About the film
"Toxic" is a period gangster drama in which Yash plays a dual role, credited as Raya and Ticket. The film is directed by Geetu Mohandas in her first collaboration with the actor, and is jointly produced by Venkat K. Narayana through KVN Productions and by Yash through Monster Mind Creations.
Shot simultaneously in Kannada and English, the film will also be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, and Malayalam, the makers said. It is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on August 26, 2026, a date that coincides with the Onam festival window.
A long road to release
The film has been postponed several times. It was originally slated for release in 2025 before being rescheduled to March 2026 and then June 2026, with the makers citing production timelines and global distribution planning. According to reporting on the film's earlier marketing, an initial character glimpse for Yash's role drew significant online traction on its release in January 2026.
The supporting cast includes Akshay Oberoi and Sudev Nair, among others, with music by Ravi Basrur, according to publicly available production credits.
What's next
With the female cast now revealed, further promotional material — including additional songs and a trailer — is expected in the run-up to the August 26 release. IANS first reported the video's release on Wednesday.
