The trailer of Tu Yaa Koi Nahi starring Ishika Shahi promises an unconventional love story filled with emotion and drama.
Ishika Shahi is back with her new show Tu Yaa Koi Nahi, a Director's Kut Productions, which will stream on the banner's official YouTube channel. The show revolves around delusional disorder and follows the story of Maira, a character whose perception of reality is deeply influenced by her emotions and mental state. Rather than presenting love as aspirational, the series dives into what happens when it becomes overwhelming, obsessive, and all-consuming.
Sharing her vision, Ishika Shahi said, “This story isn’t about perfect love. It’s about how love can blur reality and identity. I wanted to explore characters who don’t always make the right choices, but feel real in their flaws and emotions.”
Priyanshi Yadav, who will play the lead role, said, "Rebellious, loyal, and hot-headed. Maira is a Gen Z girl who’s deeply in love. She’s immature in many ways and often lets her emotions lead her decisions, but at the same time she’s fiercely loyal. She makes mistakes, reacts impulsively, but her heart is always in the right place."
She mentioned that the name itself felt very intense and emotional, and she connected with it. She added, “The story is all about the madness of love, how far people can go for someone they truly love, and the choices and sacrifices that come with it.”
Actor Mishkat Verma, who will essay a double role in the series, is happy to get the opportunity. He said, "It’s something every actor craves. Especially playing a character like Ansh, people don’t usually imagine me in such a role, so I was glad someone finally did.”
Rishabh Jaiswal, who plays a key role in the series, shared, “The way this project has been shot is very different from television. It’s subtle, raw, and real. The emotions feel very authentic, and that reflects in the performances. Without giving away spoilers, I can say the story has a very interesting twist involving duality, which makes it even more engaging.”
Beyond romance, Tu Yaa Koi Nahi explores friendship, loyalty, and emotional vulnerability. The chemistry between the leads is built not just on attraction but on comfort and collaboration. “We were very professional and supportive as co-actors, and off-screen we shared a good friendship, which naturally reflected in our scenes,” Priyanshi shared.
At its core, the series explores emotionally complex relationships and characters who exist in shades of grey.
