Famous documentary and activist Tapan K Bose died at his home on Thursday. He breathed his last at the age of 78. Tapan K Bose has directed many films as a documentary director in his career. As an activist, he became active during the Emergency in the late 1970s. He was a fearless lawyer who stood up against human rights violations in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.
Tapan K Bose's last rites will be performed on Friday at Lodhi Road crematorium. He is survived by his wife Rita Manchanda and daughter Devjani Saini.
Tapan K Bose has directed documentaries depicting social issues and human rights violations in his career. He made "An Indian Story on Bhagalpur Bindings" in 1981, "Bhopal: Beyond Genocide" in 1986, "Jharkhand" in 1993, and "The Expendable People" in 2016.
