Mohammad Rafi’s voice possessed such power that it could make a song immortal. But today, let us talk about a popular song that, despite being recorded, remained hidden from people for a long time. Just think, Rafi Sahab may have a voice, great lyrics, great music, but the song could never come on screen. How would a musician feel in such a situation?

This song was rejected many times, and two big superstars of the Hindi film industry could not recognize the potential of the song and did not include it in their movies. This is the reason why the song remained in the list of rejected songs not for a year or two, but for 7 years. Now, the big question is, which song was it and which artist could not recognize the potential of the song.

This song originated from the 1961 film 'Jab Pyaar Kisi Se Hota Hai'. The film was produced and directed by Nasir Hussain and starred Devanand, Pran and Asha Parikh. Its music was given by Jai Kishan and lyrics were written by Hasrat Jaipuri and Shailendra. But a song which was sung by Hasrat Jaipuri Sahab was left out of the film. It was sung by Mohammed Rafi and Suman Kalyanpur. The lyrics of the song were 'Aajkal Tere Mer Pyaar Ke Charche Har Zubaan Par'.

When this song was narrated to Devanand, he felt that it was too loud according to the seriousness of his character and the mood of the film, so he refused to take it. Five years later, in 1966, preparation for the film Suraj was going on. The hero was Rajendra Kumar. Shankar Jaikishan arrived with this tune of his. Rajendra Kumar also rejected this song. He felt that this song did not match his screen image. In this way this song was rejected for the second time. When two big artists rejected this tune, Shankar Jaikishan became very angry.

After this, in 1968 he appeared in the film Brahmachari. The hero of the film was Shammi Kapoor. As soon as Shammi Kapoor heard this tune, he got excited. His energy and dance were perfect for this song. Mumtaz was seen opposite him in the film. With this this song went straight into the hearts of the people. In this way, this song sung by Mohammed Rafi became a cult classic of Bollywood.
