The film "Lahore 1947" is directed by Rajkumar Santoshi. In a recent interview, Shabana Azmi was asked if she thought she could win another National Award for her performance in "Lahore 1947." The actress replied, "No one is giving me a National Award anymore." She has already won five National Awards and holds the record for winning the most National Awards in the acting category.
Shabana Azmi, speaking to Variety India about her upcoming film, said, "We finished shooting the film a long time ago. Thankfully, it's finally releasing. There are many firsts for me in this project. I've never worked with Rajkumar Santoshi or Aamir Khan, who are producing the film. This is my first time working with Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta. It's a lot of fun working with them."
Shabana Azmi also spoke about her role in the film. She explained, "This woman cries so much." I've never cried so much on screen. Rajkumar Santoshi is old school, but he sure knows what he wants! The film 'Lahore 1947' is a powerful subject that he's been trying to make for years. Aamir has given him the freedom to make it the way he envisioned it.
When Shabana Azmi was asked if the film could win, she said, "No one is giving me a National Award anymore. I realize that what I love most is acting. Awards are still important, but they're not the reason to go to the set."
