Kalki Koechlin on Struggle: Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin has recently revealed that she did not get any film for two years after her first film. During this time she faced very challenging situations.
The well-known actress in Hindi films, Kalki Koechlin has started her acting career with Anurag Kashyap's directorial film Dev D. Recalling this challenging phase of hers, the actress has said that at one time she survived by eating Vada Pav and using local trains to travel.
During a conversation with All About Eve, Kalki Koechlin talked about facing a big professional setback in her life after Dev D. The actress said that even after receiving praise for the film, she did not get any other film for two years. Kalki said, "Right after Dev D, I didn't have any other film for almost two years. I think the next film was Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara."
The actress further said that she kept herself busy doing a play during this time, which she made after winning a prize of Rs 1 lakh. During this time she survived on Vada Pav and used the local trains to commute. The actress has further admitted that she has come a long way from where she started. According to her, there are many jobs that she has done just for money. She even mentioned corporate gigs where she gets work thanks to the face.
