Adnan Sami Records Song for Akshay Kumar Film

Mumbai, July 30 — Singer and composer Adnan Sami has recorded a song for the upcoming family comedy-drama directed by Anees Bazmee and starring Akshay Kumar and Vidya Balan.

Sami shared a photograph from the studio session on Instagram, appearing alongside Bazmee and composer Anand Raaj Anand. In the accompanying caption he wrote: “Just recorded a lovely song for an upcoming film of @akshaykumar, directed by the incredible @aneesbazmee with music composed by the fabulous @anandraajanandofficial. We had a blast during the recording session!”

The still-untitled film is scheduled for theatrical release on 4 December 2026. Producers have described it as a big-screen family entertainer. It is being produced by Shirish Reddy and Kuldeep Rathore in association with Cape of Good Films and Sri Venkateswara Creations. The cast also includes Raashii Khanna, Vijay Raaz and Sudesh Lehri.

Sami is known for performing in multiple languages, including Hindi, Urdu, English, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. He received the Padma Shri for his contribution to music and is recognised for his work on the piano, including adaptations of Indian classical music and the santoor repertoire. Among his widely known tracks are “Lift Karadey,” “Kabhi To Nazar Milao,” “Kabhi Nahi,” “Tera Chehra,” “Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Mein” and “Bhar Do Jholi Meri.”

Anees Bazmee made his directorial debut with Hulchul in 1995 and scored an early commercial success with Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha in 1998. He later directed a series of popular comedies that include No Entry, Welcome, Singh Is Kinng, Ready, Welcome Back, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. He has also directed the romantic thriller Deewangee and the action film Naam – The Missing Identity.

The studio collaboration between Sami, Bazmee and Anand Raaj Anand marks an early public update on the project’s music. Further details about the song and the film’s title are expected closer to the December release.
