Rahul Gandhi's morphed picture on sanitary napkin, FIR lodged against comedian Ratan Ranjan

A case has been registered against comedian Ratan Ranjan for placing a morphed photo of Congress president Rahul Gandhi on a sanitary napkin and sharing it in the wrong way. Police provided this update on Monday.

A row has been generated regarding the decision of Congress to provide pads to women in Bihar. Indeed, comedian Ratan Ranjan had created a satirical video regarding this decision of the Congress. He is holding a pack of sanitary napkins in his hand, on which Rahul Gandhi's image is imprinted. Then he brings out a napkin and displays it, on which Rahul Gandhi's morphed image is imprinted. The row has begun on this.

According to the news agency PTI, an FIR has been lodged against Ratan Ranjan in Hyderabad. Telangana Youth Congress president Jakkidi Siva Charan Reddy, in a complaint filed with the police, has accused Ranjan and others of spreading false and malicious information against Rahul Gandhi through social media posts and circulating obscene content targeting women.

According to the complainant, 'Comedian Ratan Ranjan posted a morphed picture of Rahul Gandhi and showed him wearing a sanitary pad'. He further alleged that Ranjan has insulted the dignity of women not only in Bihar but across India by publishing/circulating obscene content in electronic form and trivialising the issue of women's health.

He said the All India Mahila Congress had recently launched a campaign to distribute sanitary pads to poor women in Bihar to spread awareness about hygiene so that they can lead a healthy life. The complainant said Ranjan's post has been retweeted by some other people as well. He said that legal action has been demanded against the people for spreading misinformation and tampering with Rahul Gandhi's photo and displaying and broadcasting obscene material, and hurting the dignity of women.
