Rajiv Thakur Says Uday Chopra Wasn’t Meant to Be an Actor, Talks About His Bond with Kapil Sharma

Rajesh Thakur, a longtime friend of famous comedian Kapil Sharma, often discusses his career. This time, during an interview, he spoke about the career of Uday Chopra, the famous actor from the film "Dhoom." He also shared his thoughts on his relationship with Kapil Sharma. 

Rajiv Thakur recently participated in a conversation with Hindi Rush. Here, he discussed his professional journey. He said, "I have always made my own way in life, even in Amritsar. I used to write and perform my own plays. When auditions for Laughter Challenge began, I was the one who filled out Chandan's (Prabhakar) application." He didn't want to be involved, but I insisted that we do it together. Even today, if I get a chance to bring a friend of mine into the spotlight, I accept it. But only those friends whose talent I believe in."

Further in the conversation, he explained why he didn't appear on every episode of Kapil's show. He said, "Kapil can take me on a couple of occasions, but if the channel doesn't want me, that's fine. It took me eight years to become a permanent member of his cast. No one on this earth can do anything for an untalented person. Take Uday Chopra, for example. What didn't Yash Chopra have? He had money, resources, a studio, and directors, but Uday Bhai wasn't destined for a career as an actor. It's not that he lacked talent, but he had talent for something else."

He further said, "What would have happened if Aditya Chopra had insisted on becoming an actor? He, too, would have failed. He was born to be a producer and director. It's not like Kapil Sharma has only one show in the world. I'm also doing my own thing; I'm busy with my career. If I keep putting all my eggs in Kapil's basket, there's no bigger fool than me. I have so many other ways to utilize my talent." He also said that he and Kapil are good friends and meet often.
