After captivating audiences with her breakout performance in "Saiyaara," actress Aneet Padda is now stepping into far more intense territory with her upcoming web series "Hunkkaar: The Roar." The trailer for this crime thriller dropped today, offering a first real glimpse into what promises to be one of the more socially charged OTT releases of the year.
A Teenager's Fight Against a Powerful Godman
The series is set in motion when Meenu Rawat, a fearless 17-year-old played by Aneet Padda, publicly accuses Baapji, a highly influential and revered cult leader, of exploitation. Her allegation doesn't stay contained-it quickly escalates into a case that draws national attention, pulling in the police, the courts, and the media.
Fatima Sana Shaikh plays the police officer tasked with investigating Meenu's claims, methodically piecing together evidence as the case unfolds. As the investigation intensifies, Meenu finds herself facing mounting resistance-not just from Baapji's influential circle, but from her own family, some of whom begin to doubt her account amid the pressure.
