Rapper Vedan Arrested in Rape Case, Released on Anticipatory Bail
Rapper Vedan Arrested: Rapper Vedan has been arrested by the police in the rape case. Thrikkakara police formally registered Vedan's arrest after hours of interrogation.
Heeradas Murali, also known as Rapper Vedan, has been arrested by the police. On Wednesday, Vedan was arrested in a rape related case. According to news agency PTI, Thrikkakara police formally registered Vedan's arrest after hours of interrogation. However, he is expected to be released soon, as the Kerala High Court granted him anticipatory bail in this case late last month.
A senior police officer said, 'Vedan's arrest has been registered. Now he has been taken for medical examination. After that, some more interrogation will be done and necessary procedures will be completed. Later, he will be released on bail'.
Rapper Vedan was asked to appear before the investigating officers on two days, Tuesday and Wednesday. The official said that the police also questioned him for a few hours on Tuesday.
The Kerala High Court had granted anticipatory bail to the rapper on August 27. Rapper Vedan was accused by a female doctor of having sex with her by promising marriage and later reneging on it. The woman has also accused the rapper of sexually assaulting her several times between 2021 and 2023.
Rapper Vedan's real name is Hiradas Murali. He hails from Kerala and is a popular Indian rapper and songwriter. Born on 25 October 1994 in Thrissur, Kerala, Vedan is known for his tracks 'Kuthanthram', 'Kondal Vedan Song', 'La Vida', 'Muana Loa', and 'Voice of Voiceless'.
