One of the veteran stars of South Indian cinema, who ruled the hearts of the audience for several decades with his brilliant acting, Kota Srinivasa Rao died at the age of 83. Due to this their is a wave of mourning in the entire entertainment world. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has expressed condolences to the actor's family by tweeting and called it a huge loss to the cinema industry.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has tweeted on his ex account on the death of actor Kota Srinivas. He wrote, 'The demise of famous actor Kota Srinivasa Rao, who won the hearts of cinema audiences with his versatile roles, is extremely sad. His artistic contribution and the roles he played in the field of cinema and theater over nearly four decades will remain unforgettable. The countless memorable roles played by him as a villain and character artist will forever be etched in the hearts of Telugu audiences. His demise is an irreparable loss to the Telugu film industry. In 1999, he won as an MLA from Vijayawada and served the public. I offer my deepest condolences to his family members.'

In this picture, the late actor had a bandage on one leg and there were injury marks on the other leg as well. This indicated his ill condition.

Kota Srinivasa Rao was a big name in the Telugu film industry. He made his debut in 1978 with the film 'Pranam Khareedu'. In his acting career spanning more than 40 years, he worked in more than 750 films.

He was also awarded the Nandi Award 9 times for playing the role of villain, supporting actor and comedian in these films. In 2015, the actor was awarded the Padma Shri. His major films were 'Dammu', 'Son of Satyamurthy' and 'Dangerous Khiladi'. Apart from Telugu, Rao had done many films in Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam cinema.

Rao also served in politics. From 1999 to 2004, he was an MLA from Vijayawada East in Andhra Pradesh.
