When it comes to switching emotions, actress Subuhii Joshi says that she has never faced any trouble in that area. The actress, who will now be seen in Dons and Darlings on ALTT, adds that all she needs is a few minutes, and she is good to go. “I think I am very quick with my emotions. Like, I can do the switch over. Of course, it's difficult for me too, so I need 10 minutes to go into that zone. But I do get there. It's not easy, but it's manageable,” she says.
Talking about being part of daily soaps, she adds, “Honestly, it's not easy to shoot daily soaps because every day you're shooting for a minimum of 12 hours. And then there are times when there's something very intense happening. So it's not possible to give a perfect take every time because you just have to do it. You should always be ready. There are times when we don't even have the script. So, it's not at all easy, and it's not always possible to give a perfect take every time for me.”
As for being emotionally invested in a scene, she says, “For me, honestly, I am more emotionally invested in a scene because if you're not emotionally invested, it won't show physically. That's what I believe. For example, I was shooting for this show, and I had a scene where I had to cry a lot. I got so involved in it that even after the cut, I kept on crying. My co-actor was a little baffled and asked, ‘Oh my God, is she okay?’ So, for me, I am more emotionally invested.”
She adds, “This is why it takes a little time for me to come back from that high-intensity scene, but I have to do that. For example, if I get so involved in a scene where I’m crying, it may take a while to snap out of it. It’s a process.” Meanwhile, shows are given a regional touch nowadays, which is great, she says. “Honestly, giving a regional touch to the show, of course, attracts the audience, but it can lead to backlash as well. If you portray a specific region inaccurately, it might go really bad. So, I don’t think it’s always a great idea, personally.”
