'Babita ji is not God...', director reveals reason behind breakup of Karisma Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan's engagement

But before the issue reached the wedding, both of them parted ways. Years have passed, and now the Bollywood director has made a major revelation about this.
During the break-up of the engagement between Karisma Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan, the cause of this was given to Babita Kapoor, the actress's mother. It is said that when Karisma and Abhishek became engaged, the Bachchan family was facing a financially weak period. Under these circumstances, Babita Kapoor used to think about the future of her daughter Karisma, and she had presented some conditions before the Bachchan family, which were unacceptable to them.
Now after years, director-producer Sunil Darshan has talked about the broken engagement of Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor. In a conversation with Vicky Lalwani, Sunil Darshan said, "Fate has created a lot of upheaval in the lives of the daughters of the Kapoor family. They are lucky that they have got a mother who has always tried to protect them, even if she has made mistakes in this process."
Sunil Darshan further said, "Babita ji is not God. She is a human being, and she can make mistakes. These girls (Karisma and Kareena) have been brought up with a lot of love and care. They got support in their career."
When Sunil Darshan was asked about Karisma and Abhishek Bachchan's chemistry, the director said, "They had chemistry. You should watch 'Haan Maine Bhi Pyar Kiya Tha' (film starring Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor). Their chemistry in the film reflects their real life bond."
Sunil Darshan has also revealed why Abhishek Bachchan and Karisma Kapoor broke up. He says that their breakup happened due to external pressure. Regarding this, he said, "Sometimes things from the outside create problems for the inside part and spoil the whole thing. I thought everything was fine till that time. I still think Karisma and Kareena, I will always stand by them."
