Singer Badshah is still having trouble. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has called him for allegedly obscene content in his song "Tateeree." The Commission itself initiated the case after reading reports in the media that expressed concern over the lyrics and video of the song.

The Commission has summoned Badshah, along with the song's director Mahi Sandhu, co-director Joban Sandhu, and producer Hiten. They have been directed to appear before the Commission on March 25, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. with relevant documents.

In a statement, the Commission stated that the song's content appears prima facie objectionable. It potentially violates the provisions of the Indian Penal Code, the Information Technology Act, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.

The Commission also warned that appropriate legal action may be taken if the directive is not followed. This development comes at a time when scrutiny of Badshah's song is increasing. The song has been accused of promoting obscenity and objectionable depictions, especially of matters related to women.

Earlier, YouTube removed the song on Friday after an FIR was filed. Before the National Commission for Women, the Haryana Commission for Women and the Commission for Protection of Child Rights have sent notices to Badshah.

"Tateeree" is a Haryanvi hip-hop song released on March 1, 2026. Simran Jaglan features in the song. The lyrics are also written by Badshah. The song is directed by Mahi Sandhu and Joban Sandhu. It is produced by Hiten. It was released on Badshah's official YouTube channel.
