Badshah summoned by National Commission for Women over “Tateeree” song
Badshah: Recently, Badshah sang the song "Tateeree." The song has received widespread criticism on social media. Following the Haryana Women's Commission and the Child Rights Protection Commission, the National Commission for Women has also issued a notice.
Singer Badshah is still having trouble. The National Commission for Women (NCW) has called him for allegedly obscene content in his song "Tateeree." The Commission itself initiated the case after reading reports in the media that expressed concern over the lyrics and video of the song.
The Commission has summoned Badshah, along with the song's director Mahi Sandhu, co-director Joban Sandhu, and producer Hiten. They have been directed to appear before the Commission on March 25, 2026, at 12:30 p.m. with relevant documents.
In a statement, the Commission stated that the song's content appears prima facie objectionable. It potentially violates the provisions of the Indian Penal Code, the Information Technology Act, and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.
