CBFC Clears ‘The Raja Saab’ With U/A 16+ Rating, Orders Changes to Violent Scenes
The Raja Saab Censor Board: Two scenes in the film "The Raja Saab," starring Prabhas and directed by Maruthi, have been altered by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The movie by Prabhas, named "The Raja Saab," has been awarded the certificate of U/A 16+. Changes were made to some violent portions as advised by the censor board. Know what all portions are altered.
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the CBFC ordered the alteration of the blood-washing scene from the floor. It was made monochrome (black and white) to reduce its impact. The beheading scene was also shortened by four seconds. Following these changes, the film has received a U/A 16+ certificate, meaning viewers over the age of 16 can watch it.
It has an approximate runtime of 189 minutes, or 3 hours and 9 minutes. It will be released in five different languages. Two of the main languages that many Indians speak or comprehend include Hindi and Tamil. Prabhas will act along with Malavika Mohanan, Nidhi Aggarwal, Riddhi Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, and Boman Irani.
Prabhas has established a strong presence in Indian cinema with films like "Baahubali" and "Kalki 2898 AD." This film will showcase his versatility in a new genre. "The Raja Saab" is releasing on Sankranti, January 9, 2026. Thalapathy Vijay's "Jana Nayakan" is also releasing this festive season. "Jana Nayakan" and "The Raja Saab" will face intense competition at the box office.
