Amitabh Bachchan Stays Silent on Social Media? Paresh Rawal Reveals Why Big B Avoids Sharing His Opinions
Paresh Rawal on Amitabh Bachchan: Amitabh Bachchan is very active on social media and writes regular blogs. However, he prefers to remain silent on many contemporary issues. Paresh Rawal recently spoke about this.
Amitabh Bachchan is very active on social media network X and maintains daily blogs there. However, he rarely shares his opinions about different matters through social media or any other place publicly. In fact, his postings in social media are mostly obscure. He has never shared the reason for that, but Paresh Rawal did it recently.
Even when Amitabh Bachchan does express an opinion on X (formerly Twitter), he tends to be indirect or brief. He has often been seen holding back from sharing his thoughts. Recently, speculation intensified following a post by Big B that read, "Wanted to say something, but thought... no! Don't say it." While Amitabh Bachchan did not elaborate, the message sparked significant discussion online. Now, Paresh Rawal has spoken about the 'Shahenshah's' state of mind and the potential reasons why he often refrains from voicing his opinions.
In an interview with Vicky Lalwani, Paresh Rawal said, "People are afraid. They fear harassment. In the past, some people used to speak their minds without hesitation. If you observe, the number of such people has dwindled over time." Paresh Rawal also discussed Amitabh Bachchan's political journey and the challenges he faced over the years. He remarked, "What would he do at this age? He witnessed the intense criticism he faced following the V.P. Singh episode. If the establishment turns against you, it can ruin your life. We don't know what he had to go through; he endured a great deal of suffering."
Paresh Rawal further said, "Amitabh Bachchan does not believe in confrontations; he prefers peace. He puts an end to arguments right there by folding his hands. Many people mistake this for weakness. He dislikes conflict, toxic talk, or negativity around him." Paresh Rawal also spoke about his own political career, clarifying that contrary to popular belief, his tenure as an MP did not limit his acting work. He had entered politics in 2014 as a BJP MP from Ahmedabad East. After completing one term, he decided not to contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. His presence in films decreased during those years, leading many to believe that politics had impacted his acting career; however, Paresh Rawal dismissed these claims.
The actor stated, "Politics never played a role in my doing fewer films. The number of films dropped because I declined offers. I am using the word 'refuse,' not 'reject.' Often, I didn't find anything special in the scripts or stories." He further explained that balancing parliamentary duties with films was never a challenge. He said, "Despite being a politician, I had plenty of time to do films. Parliament is in session for about 110 days a year, leaving me with around 265 days for myself. I had also cut down on my theatre shows."
