Choreographer Defends Ananya Panday After Bharatanatyam Scene in 'Chand Mera Dil' Draws Trolls
Ananya Panday: Ananya Panday is being trolled on social media for performing Bharatanatyam. Meanwhile, an assistant choreographer from the film has defended her.
Ananya Panday is being trolled for attempting Bharatanatyam "Chand Mera Dil". She played as the lead actress in the film. Neither Ananya Panday nor the film's makers have yet responded to the issue. However, the song's assistant choreographer has responded. She defended the actress's efforts and her efforts to learn Bharatanatyam in just a few days.
Ananya Kurup, an assistant choreographer for the film, shared behind-the-scenes photos and videos with Ananya Panday. When the actress faced criticism, Kurup commented on the post. She defended the actress, saying that it takes courage and dedication to step out of one's comfort zone and try a classical art form. She further wrote, "Bharatanatyam is something dancers train for years to master its style, expressions, and technique. Ananya has put in genuine effort and hard work in a very short time. This is something to be commended." Kurup concluded his note by urging people to encourage artists who challenge themselves and strive to give their best, rather than belittle them.
In "Chand Mera Dil," Ananya's character, Chandni, is introduced to a Bharatanatyam fusion dance. This scene takes place on the first day of engineering college. Lakshya's character, Aarav, is initially unaware of what lies ahead. When Chandni begins her Bharatanatyam, Aarav judges her. But as she begins to move to modern beats, Aarav is impressed. This is where their love story begins.
Directed by Vivek Soni, "Chand Mera Dil" is the story of two students. The film released in theatres on May 22. "Chand Mera Dil" also stars Paresh Pahuja, Manish Choudhary, Iravati Harshe and Charu Shankar.
