Here, she had filed an appeal challenging the Delhi court's framing of charge against her in the case. This case now finds itself before the Supreme Court. Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra of the Supreme Court has recused himself from hearing this case.
Supreme Court judge Justice Prashant Kumar Mishra on Thursday recused himself from hearing Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez's petition challenging a Delhi court's order framing charges against her in a Rs 200 crore money laundering case. At the outset, a bench comprising Justice Mishra and Justice Atul S. Chandurkar informed the actress's lawyer and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) that the matter would be referred to another bench.
Justice Mishra said, "There is a problem. My son represented the government in a related case. List the matter on June 25 before a bench in which none of us is a member."
