Vashu Bhagnani Files ₹400 Crore Lawsuit Against Tips and David Dhawan

There have been issues between Pooja Entertainment (India) Ltd and Tips Industries Limited, which has resulted in legal action. The producer from Pooja Entertainment, Vashu Bhagnani, has sued Tips Music chairman, Ramesh Taurani, Kumar S. Taurani, and the filmmaker David Dhawan in court. The lawsuit amounts to 400 crores rupees in the Bombay High Court. This lawsuit is linked to a song from Varun Dhawan's film "Hai Jawani To Ishq Hona Hai."
Vashu Bhagnani's lawsuit is linked to Varun Dhawan's recently released film "Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai." Famous songs from Vashu Bhagnani's film "Biwi No. 1" have been used in Varun's film without permission. These include songs like "Chunri Chunri" and "Ishq Sona Hai." Vashu has approached the court to seek cancellation of the audio rights in this case. Vashu Bhagnani is seeking an immediate and comprehensive injunction.
Speaking to ANI, Vashu Bhagnani's lawyer said, "We have filed a lawsuit for ₹400 crore against Tips Music Company. This legal battle has been ongoing for several years, and no agreement has been reached regarding the rights of the musicians. Previously, film rights were based on agreements. Today, music companies purchase songs from major producers or lyricists. At that time, the agreement with Tips only covered audio rights." In 2018, Tips emailed us seeking visual rights. Vashu Bhagnani responded, but their discussions were fruitless.
Vashu Bhagnani's lawyer further stated, "If they are the legal owners of the music rights, they should show their documents. That's why we filed a lawsuit against Tips. Justice will definitely be served, and the truth will come out."
Through a press release, Pooja Entertainment has also sought instructions to remove songs like "Chunri Chunri" and "Ishq Sona Hai" from Varun Dhawan's film and its promotional materials. They are also demanding a change in the title of Varun's film, "Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai."
In addition, Vashu Bhagnani's production house has also demanded additional damages of ₹100 crore. Pooja Entertainment (India) Limited has also alleged that Tips and David Dhawan have illegally used intellectual property rights.
