Centre's big step regarding film industry, asked states to build low cost cinema halls
Empower Cinema: On Tuesday, the Centre asked state governments to use platforms like Waves Bazaar to showcase their film shooting locations. Along with this, the states were also urged to take necessary steps to build low-cost cinema halls in their small cities.

Speaking to a conference of Information and Public Relations secretaries of various states on Tuesday, Union Minister L. Murugan explained that the Indian Cinema Hub portal has been made a single window portal. This will simplify obtaining the facilities and permissions requested for filmmaking in India.
According to PTI, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Murugan said, 'We are emphasizing film-friendly policies in India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In such a situation, the GIS facility promotes the cinema business.' The main objective of the conference held on Tuesday is also to strengthen coordination between the Center and the State in mass communication. Along with this, it is also to be ensured that the Press Seva Portal and India Cine Hub work properly. Apart from this, the objective of this conference was also to develop infrastructure to promote cinema.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting also suggested developing modular and mobile cinema models for tier-3 and tier-4 cities, rural districts, and areas. It was informed in the conference that areas with fewer screens will be mapped with GIS mapping. After this, the infrastructure will be recycled. While doing so, individuals will be encouraged to invest in economical cinema infrastructure through a single window system.
Information and Broadcasting Secretary Sanjay Jaju also talked about the need to grow digital creators, local media, and strengthen district-level information and public relations systems. Sanjay Jaju urged all the states to come up with the Press Seva Portal. Jaju also emphasized the financial angle of cinema and content creation. He wants talent to come forward at the local level, along with big cities. This is why initiatives like India Cine Hub were launched to promote filmmaking and content creation. Lastly, the aim of this conference was to sensitize and connect the concerned officials of the States and Union Territories with the Press Seva Portal.
