After ‘Ghuskhor Pandit’ Controversy, Manoj Bajpayee Shares His Honest View on Public Outrage

The movie titled “Ghuskhor Pandit” by Manoj Bajpayee was controversial and prevented the release of the film due to its name. In a recent interview, when asked why more caution is required, he replied, "You have to be very careful."

In a conversation with News 18, Manoj Bajpayee said that people get hurt these days easily. He said, "We live in such a time, not just in India, but all over the world. Everyone is waiting for someone to hurt them." It's as if someone is saying, "Come on, offend me. I've been sitting here since morning."

He further said that when people become so sensitive, filmmakers have to be even more vigilant. He said, "You don't want a film that has been so hard-earned to be unnecessarily dragged into controversy. A film isn't just one person's work; it involves the hard work and careers of many."

Ending on a positive note, Manoj said, "We live in a time where we have to work thoughtfully. But we certainly hope for a time when no one is offended by anything."

The film's title, "Bhuskhor Pandit," had sparked controversy. Some felt that using the word "Pandit," which is commonly associated with a Brahmin surname, could send the wrong message and hurt people's sentiments.

Following the controversy, the film's makers apologized and assured that the title would be changed.
