Samay Raina Reveals He Lied to Amitabh Bachchan on Kaun Banega Crorepati
Samay Raina on Amitabh Bachchan: In his show, comedian Samay Raina shared his experience of appearing on KBC. He also commented on Amitabh Bachchan.
Another funny YouTuber, Samay Raina, is making headlines. But this time, he's in the limelight due to his roasting of Amitabh Bachchan. As part of his show "Still Alive," he recently roasted the Bollywood actor by remembering an instance when he participated in Big B's "Kaun Banega Crorepati" back in 2025. According to him, he lied to Big B by telling him that his grandma was his fan.
On his show, Samay explained that he didn't behave in his usual manner, but instead tried to be a clean, good person. He said, "My grandmother has passed away. It's been seven years since she passed away." There I said, "Sir, my grandmother is a huge fan of yours." I said that just to create an atmosphere. You can't be honest on the Indian internet. You can't be yourself. You have to play the game, you have to adapt to the environment."
He knew he had to play the role of a "good guy" on KBC. He replied, "When I was going on KBC, I understood that if I acted clean here, unlike my character, people would say, 'What a versatile creator!'"
He jokingly said that while sitting on the hot seat, he would have "odd" thoughts. He wanted to crack jokes but restrained himself to maintain a clean image. One joke he wanted to make but didn't was, "Sir, you've done so many polio ads, yet why haven't you been able to get your son to stand on his feet?"
Samay gave this example to explain that he usually creates a character who abuses and jokes about everything. It's awkward for him to play a clean character, and on India's Got Talent, when BeerBiceps (Ranvir Allahbadia) broke his clean image, the abuse wasn't tolerated. Samay explained this with the example, "A non-vegetarian can eat veg, but a vegetarian will vomit if he eats non-veg."
Comedian Samay Raina appeared on Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 16 in late January 2025, joining host Amitabh Bachchan in the hot seat along with fellow digital creators like Tanmay Bhat and Bhuvan Bam.
