David Dhawan, an experienced director of 74 years, is currently making news because of his next release titled 'Hai Jawani To Ishq Hona Hai'. According to him, this may be his last movie before retiring. Posts about the director have been posted by another director named Karan Johar.
On Saturday, a film festival dedicated to the career of David Dhawan took place. The festival was named 'David Dhawan Film Festival', and the person himself attended along with his son Varun Dhawan.
Following this, Karan Johar wrote about David Dhawan on his Instagram Stories on Sunday, "Yesterday, when I attended David ji's felicitation ceremony and he told me that this would be his last film, I had mixed emotions. This is a filmmaker who is responsible for creating an entire genre of films. A 'David Dhawan film' means entertainment."
The filmmaker further added, "He is loved, respected, and appreciated in our film industry. No one can deny that! Best wishes for your upcoming blockbuster film with your son. David Dhawan, you will always be number 1."
David Dhawan is considered one of the most successful directors of comedy films in Bollywood. In his film career spanning over 43 years, he has worked with many successful actors. These include Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Govinda, Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Karisma Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, and many others.
He is known for helming films like "Raja Babu", "Coolie No. 1", "Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi", "Hero No. 1", "Haseena Maan Jaayegi", "Mujhse Shaadi Karogi", "Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya", and "Partner".
After a six-year break, David returns to direction with "Hai Jawani To Ishq Hona Hai". The film stars Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, Pooja Hegde, Mouni Roy, Rakesh Bedi, Rajesh Kumar, Manish Paul, and others. The film is scheduled to release in theaters on June 5.
