A notable detail about this new poster is the absence of the director's name; it simply states that it is a "Salman Khan Films" production. The makers have not yet disclosed the reason for this.
Initially, the film was titled 'Battle of Galwan', but it was later renamed 'Maatrubhumi'. The film is based on true events—specifically, the historic clash between Indian and Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley on June 15, 2020. Twenty Indian soldiers were martyred in that confrontation.
Salman Khan plays the lead role in 'Maatrubhumi'. He portrays Colonel Santosh Babu of the 16 Bihar Regiment, the commanding officer who led the Indian troops during the battle. The film is directed by Apoorva Lakhia. Apart from Salman Khan, the film will also feature Chitrangada Singh, Abhilash Chaudhary, and Ankur Bhatia.
