Pakistani Viewers Did Not Watch ‘Dhurandhar 2’ Before India, Viral Post Misleading
Pakistani Viewers Watch Dhurandhar 2 on OTT: Indian viewers will have to wait to watch 'Dhurandhar 2' on OTT. However, according to a viral claim, Pakistani viewers watched 'Dhurandhar 2' on OTT late Friday night. This caused the streaming platform's server to crash. Find out if there's any truth to this claim.
Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2 were prohibited from being shown in Pakistan; hence, Pakistani people could not view the movies officially. Nevertheless, Bollywood movies Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar 2 were popular among Pakistani audiences who viewed pirated versions of the films. In recent times, a viral post stated that Dhurandhar 2 received numerous views upon its release on OTT platforms in Pakistan to an extent that the Netflix server crashed due to it.
'Dhurandhar 2' will stream on OTT platforms in India on June 4th. However, a viral post claims that people in Pakistan have already seen the film on OTT platforms. This caused the streaming platform's server to crash minutes later. Pakistani content creator Mavia Umar Farooqui shared a video on his Instagram account. The content creator claimed that 'Dhurandhar 2' streamed at midnight in Pakistan, causing the OTT platform's server to go down. In his post, he also stated that Pakistani viewers are excited about the film.
A fact-check of this news reveals that 'Dhurandhar 2' is not currently available on OTT platforms. Furthermore, 'Dhurandhar 2' will stream on JioHotStar, not Netflix, on June 4th. Consequently, the viral claim is completely false. Pakistani audiences will also have to wait to see the film.
