Welcome to the Jungle Director Ahmed Khan Credits Akshay Kumar, Says Film Was Made Within Budget
Ahmed Khan on Welcome 3: The film "Welcome to the Jungle" was released on June 26th. Director Ahmed Khan has reacted to the audience response to the film.
The director of the blockbuster “Welcome to the Jungle,” Ahmed Khan, is pleased with the audience’s response to the film. According to him, it reflects all his efforts in years coming to fruition. He is thankful to the lead cast and the producers for believing in his vision. He also remarks that although the film is massive, it has been shot within budget constraints.
Speaking about the film's response, the director said seeing audiences laughing in theaters is the biggest reward. He told news agency ANI, "Two and a half years of hard work...people giving it so much love and laughing, just as we wanted, and they're genuinely laughing. It makes my heart happy." The director further stated that the credit goes to the entire team. He smiled and said, "Everyone's togetherness... everyone's development... that's what happened with me. Every artist stood firmly behind this project."
Praising producer Firoz Nadiadwala, Ahmed Khan said that he was driven more by his passion than by business. Ahmed Khan said, "I can't just call him a producer... he has so much passion. So much passion as a producer." The director specifically praised Akshay Kumar, calling him the pillar of the film. He said, "During the 7 o'clock shift, he was the first one on set. He was like a pillar for the film. If that pillar moved... my entire tent would collapse." He also mentioned that Sunil Shetty, Jackie Shroff, Johnny Lever, and Paresh Rawal also supported him throughout the shoot.
Speaking about the references to classic Hindi cinema in the film, Ahmed Khan admitted that he deliberately drew inspiration from the films he grew up watching. He said, "What was my heart's desire... we said put it all in, mix it all, because you won't get this opportunity again to bring together so many actors." He further said, "Cinema is what we've seen. Some are fans of Mehboob Khan sahab, some of Guru Dutt sahab, some of Raj Kapoor sahab. We've moved forward by watching everything." Talking about the box office of "Welcome 3," according to data available on SacNilk, it has earned ₹72.25 crore till Monday, the fourth day.
