A recent movie of Ananya Panday titled Chand Mera Dil is currently screening in the theaters. The movie has been criticized and trolled a lot due to a particular dance sequence shown in the movie. In fact, there was a lot of criticism against Ananya for having performed the fusion-style dance based on the traditional form of Bharatanatyam.
Responding to criticism of Ananya's performance regarding the dance sequence, Chunky Pandey stated that the performance was completely misunderstood and was never intended to be a pure Bharatanatyam performance.
Speaking to ETimes, Chunky explained that the sequence was designed as a fusion act, often performed at college cultural festivals. He said that people mistook it for traditional Bharatanatyam and began criticizing it based on that perspective. He urged audiences to view the film in its context and then react accordingly.
