A Candid Reflection on Family Bonds Post-Divorce
Sussanne Khan, ex-wife of Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan, has opened up about how her relationship with the actor's family, particularly his mother, has grown noticeably closer in recent months, offering a candid look at how personal loss can reshape long-standing relationships even after a marriage has ended.
What Sussanne Shared on the Podcast
Appearing on the "Honestly Why Not" podcast, Sussanne revealed that her bond with Hrithik's parents, especially his mother, has become "so beautiful" over the past four to six months, a shift she directly connected to the recent loss of her own mother. "I must say that my bond with Hrithik's mom and dad, especially his mom, has become so beautiful within the last six months. Even more so, I think after losing my mom because I think that I actually kind of felt a lot of pain for the suffering that we both went through at one time, the way she used to love me and maybe I did something wrong or whatever," she said.
Grief as a Catalyst for Reconnection
Sussanne elaborated further on how her own experience of loss reshaped her emotional perspective toward her former mother-in-law. "So I actually, I think that after my mom passed, I felt more love for her and felt a realization of what she meant to me in the past," she added. This reflection suggests that personal grief prompted Sussanne to reassess and appreciate a relationship that may have carried unresolved emotional complexity following her divorce, a reminder that family bonds formed through marriage don't necessarily dissolve entirely when the marriage itself ends, particularly when there's a foundation of genuine affection to draw back on.
