In an interview with Time magazine, Leonardo DiCaprio told that his stepmother, Peggy DiCaprio, is an Amritdhari Sikh. She wears typical Sikh clothing and a turban. She looks like a typical Indian actress. It is reported that she began wearing the turban only a few years ago.

Peggy DiCaprio married Leonardo's father, George DiCaprio, in 1995. They have a son, Adam Ferrar, who is Leo's half-brother. Peggy DiCaprio is George's second wife. George divorced Leonardo's mother, Irmelin Indenbirken, when Leonardo was just one year old.

Leonardo DiCaprio recounted how Hollywood superstar Brad Pitt was surprised to learn about his parents.
