‘I Receive Such Threats Every Day’: Ayesha Khan on Online Harassment
Ayesha Khan on Getting Rape Threats: Actress Ayesha Khan, who appeared in "Dhurandhar," shared many things about the daily harassment and fear she faces.
Movie actress Ayesha Khan talked about body shaming and rape threats on social media. She also shared her own experience.
Ayesha Khan performed in the song "Sharat" from the movie "Dhurandhar" by Aditya Dhar. She recalled that when she was in the twelfth grade, she was offered the role of the second lead in a T-Series song. However, just one night before the shoot, she was removed from the role due to being overweight. Later, at the "We the Women" event, Ayesha said that it took her a long time to overcome this and feel confident about her look.
Actress Ayesha Khan said, "I face vulgar comments about my body every day on social media. Even if I wear a simple top, I fear people's reactions. Even if I wear a skirt, people feel offended. Because of this, I have to think before posting anything about how people will perceive it. Because of all this, I feel very scared about what they might want to do to me. When I post something I want, I don't even feel like reading the comments section because they write about what they want to do to me if they get the chance."
Sharat fame Ayesha Khan explained her harassment, "If these people had so much power, they would become rapists. These are not just trivial comments. I receive such threats every day. I hope that strict action is taken against them. But I wonder if I weren't a celebrity, perhaps these threats would become reality."
Ayesha Khan made her debut with the Ekta Kapoor-produced serial "Kasautii Zindagii Kay." She then starred in "Baalveer Returns." She then appeared in a supporting role in the Telugu film "Mukhachitram." She recently gained recognition for her role in the song "Shaarat" from "Dhurandhar."
