Investigation into Zubeen Garg death continues, Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and Amritprabha Mahanta arrested

We all know that recently, Assamese singer Zubeen Garg passed away. Police are investigating the matter. Police said that musician Shekhar Jyoti Goswami and singer Amritprabha Mahant were arrested on Thursday in connection with Zubeen Garg's death.

Police said that Goswami and Mahant were arrested this evening after several days of questioning. They have been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Special DGP of the Assam Police CID, Munna Prasad Gupta, told reporters that the interrogation of the two is ongoing after the court remanded them to 14 days of police custody.

An officer said, "We have found some evidence against them." Therefore, his arrest was necessary for further investigation. Police said that four people, including Garg's manager Siddharth Sharma and festival organizer Shyamkanu Mahant, have been arrested in the case.

They said that Shyamkanu Mahant and Siddharth Sharma were arrested on Wednesday and have been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including culpable homicide not amounting to murder and criminal conspiracy.

Munna Prasad Gupta, Special DGP of the Assam Police CID, told reporters that Shyamkanu Mahant and Sarma have been remanded to 14-day police custody by the court and their interrogation is ongoing.

The CID is investigating Garg's death. More than 60 FIRs have been filed across the state. Shyamkanu Mahant is the main organizer of the North East Festival, where the singer was performing. FIRs have also been filed against Mahant, his manager Sharma, and about 10 other people.

Garg died mysteriously while swimming in the sea in Singapore on September 19. He had gone to an event organized by Shyamkanu Mahanta and his company. The Assam Police has formed a nine-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the case.
