Janani- AI Ki Kahani makers Abhigyan Jha and Mrinal Jha: Ours is a very creative combination

Intriguing storylines, relevant plots, and great characters: producer duo Abhigyan Jha and Mrinal Jha are surely setting the screen on fire with their projects. Known for their shows Janani - AI Ki Kahani on Dangal TV and Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak on Colors TV, the producers say that the combination of their experience and talents is what sets them apart from the rest.

“It’s a very creative combination. One factor is Mrinal’s experience. Writing thousands of episodes over 30 years is gold. We’ve seen every channel from DD1 to DD2, and whatever channel has ever come, we’ve done something on it. Most of the time, it succeeded. Each success teaches you something about grabbing viewers, what can be done, and what is possible,” says Abhigyan.

Mrinal adds, “For example, a sequence we shot recently—most people say it’s not doable on TV. But we get teams to do things that others can’t. When we tell an action director what we want, they believe it can be done because they trust our experience. We get performances out of actors who initially don’t believe they can do it. We give actors the freedom to do their best without self-censorship.”

Meanwhile, talking about their projects, Mrinal says, “We are excited about telling some very exciting love stories. We’re working on a film that we want to start shooting soon. We just did test shoots for it. There’s also a daily comedy-drama that we’re very excited about. We recently did a test shoot for it and have a fairly exciting cast. Comedy-dramas are not being done enough, and we want to change that. This show has a unique background and is very funny. During the shoot, the whole unit was laughing, which is important. We need more laughter and comedies in family dramas.”
