Actor Kamal Haasan, who is a Rajya Sabha MP, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the capital Delhi today. In this, the actor also sought PM Modi to hasten the declaration of antiquity of Keeladi.
Actor Kamal Haasan met PM Modi for the first time since he was sworn in as a Rajya Sabha member last month. The politician-actor has also shared pictures of this meeting on his social media. In his post on X, the actor wrote that it is an honor for him to meet PM Modi. On this occasion, he also apprised him of the major concerns of the people of Tamil Nadu.
Kamal Haasan wrote in his post, "Today I had the privilege of meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi. As a representative of the people of Tamil Nadu and an artist, I put forward some requests to him, the most important of which was to expedite the recognition of the antiquity of Keeladi. I urged the Prime Minister to support the Tamil people in showcasing the grandeur of Tamil civilization and the glory of the Tamil language to the world."
During this meeting, Kamal Haasan also gave PM Modi a souvenir based on the theme of Keeladi village, located 12 km from Madurai on the banks of the Vaigai River. It is an ancient site of the Sangam era. However, there is a conflict going on between the Center and the DMK-led Tamil Nadu government over the discoveries of Keeladi. Kamal Haasan was sworn in as an MP in the Rajya Sabha on July 25.
