In a conversation with Subhash K Jha, Moushumi Chatterjee revealed that she had slapped an actor who crossed the line. She said, 'He deserved this. He was anti-women, but I do not blame him for this. You have to see both sides of the coin. Heroes used to flirt with heroines, and they expected heroines to do the same. This was the way they knew. They didn't know any other way. Men are brought up by their mothers, pampering them, then their wives and sisters also pamper them.'
Moushumi Chatterjee said that she had to lose many films because of not compromising. She was asked why Jaya Bachchan was taken in place of her in the film 'Koshish'? To this, she said, 'The reason for this was that I do not compromise with my dignity, no matter what. That is a thing of the past. Later, Gulzar and I reconciled. After many years, we worked together in 'Angoor'. Haribhai (Sanjeev Kumar) was my hero in 'Koshish' and 'Angoor' too. I lost many roles because I cannot satisfy anyone's ego.'
Moushumi Chatterjee started her acting career with the film 'Balika Badhu' in 1967. After this she appeared in 'Anurag'. Moushumi worked with Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, Rajesh Khanna and many big actors.
