Famous singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya often faces controversies due to his statements. Now he seems to be in trouble due to one of his statements. A Pune lawyer has sent a legal notice to the singer. This notice is regarding Bhattacharya's controversial statement in which he described Mahatma Gandhi as the 'Father of the Nation of Pakistan'.

He made this remark during a podcast interview. Lawyer Asim Sarode has demanded a written apology from Abhijeet Bhattacharya. If he does not do so, he has threatened legal action. The lawyer says that this statement is an insult to Gandhiji's legacy and misrepresents historical facts.

During the podcast, Abhijeet Bhattacharya compared musician RD Burman to Gandhi Ji and said, "Just like Mahatma Gandhi was the father of the nation, RD Burman was the father of the nation in the world of music." He further said, "Mahatma Gandhi was the father of the nation for Pakistan, not for India."

This legal notice has been sent by Manish Deshpande and other law students. In this, the singer has been accused of crossing the line in his statement. While explaining the role of Gandhi Ji, Asim Sarode said, "Gandhi Ji worked day and night for Hindu-Muslim unity and opposed partition, saying 'Partition will have to be accepted only over my dead body'." The lawyer underlined his global identity, stating that more than 150 countries have issued postage stamps in tribute to Gandhi.

The legal notice has demanded a written apology from Abhijeet. The notice also reads that if he fails to apologize, then a criminal case will be filed against him. "Such statements hurt the sentiments of people and mislead them," the notice said. So far, singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya has not made any public statement to respond to the legal notice.
