Sudipto happy on 'The Kerala Story' getting National Film Award, dedicated it to the girls of Kerala

At the 71st National Film Awards, the movie 'The Kerala Story' by Sudipto Sen has emerged as the winner of Best Director and Best Cinematography Awards. Ada Sharma was the lead actor in the movie which hit the screens in 2023. Sudipto Sen has responded to the National Film Award won by the movie and dedicated the award to Kerala's girls.

Director Sudipto Sen said in a conversation with news agency ANI, 'Winning a National Award is a great feeling. When a filmmaker starts his journey and goes through many ups and downs amid struggles, such an achievement with the country's biggest award feels very special'. Sudipto appreciated the contribution of his team and thanked them.

Sudipto Sen said, 'The journey of making the film 'The Kerala Story' was a team effort and it is a victory of the team. It was not made in Mumbai, but we went to small villages and cities of Kerala. Collected facts for the story. It is a different kind of feeling'. Sudipto Sen dedicated the National Award received by the film to the girls of Kerala and said, 'I hope my hard work and the efforts of the team will spread the message about their suffering and bring consciousness among the people'.

He also praised the work of 'The Kerala Story' cinematographer Prashantanu Mahapatra, who has also won the National Award for his work in the film. Sudipto Sen said, 'He is one of the most sensible cinematographers in the country. I have worked with him in my first film and first feature film. He has a deep understanding of cinema, light and scene. He has shown the beautiful scenes of Kerala and Ladakh impressively'.
