South's famous rapper 'Vedan' accused of sexual abuse, police registered a case

Kerala's popular rapper Hirandas Murali, also referred to as 'Vedan', has now been the victim of a very serious allegation. A female doctor has lodged a complaint of sexual abuse against him with serious allegations against him. According to the victim, the rapper had physical relations with her for a long duration by giving a false promise of marriage. This issue is currently being probed by the police and an argument has already begun regarding Hirandas from cyberspace to local society.

Information about this case came to light on Thursday when the police confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused Hirandas under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (now Indian Justice Code). According to the victim, between August 2021 and March 2023, Hirandas had relations with her several times by promising to marry her, but later he cheated her by refusing to marry her.

The police have started investigation in view of the seriousness of the matter. At present, the accused Hirandas Murali has not been arrested, but police sources say that the work of interrogation and gathering evidence is going on in full swing. The investigating officer says that the evidence presented by the victim is being reviewed and other digital evidence including mobile chats, call records are being scrutinized.

Rapper Vedan is very popular among the youth. The raps sung by him are very much liked. At present, in this entire incident, the police have kept the identity of the victim confidential, as is necessary to do in the Supreme Court guidelines in cases related to sexual offenses. No statement has come from the victim's family at the moment, while no official response has been given by the accused yet.
