Vicky Kaushal's movie 'Chhaava' was a box office hit. Meanwhile, the movie gave a feeling of pride to the viewers. Maharashtra's warrior Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj's life was depicted in the movie, which accumulated a worldwide collection of Rs 800 crore. Laxman Utekar directed the movie.

Recently, while having a discussion with Mirchi Marathi, renowned actor Mahesh Manjrekar spoke of the success of the film. He said something else about the film. He said that the success of the movie was because of the historical character instead of the actor who played the leading role.

Speaking in Marathi, Mahesh said, 'Vicky Kaushal is a very good actor. His film Chhaava earned 800 crores. But Vicky Kaushal cannot say that people came to see him. If that were the case, people would have come to see his other films as well. People came to see the character of Sambhaji Maharaj. His previous films did not do so well.'

Mahesh Manjrekar said that it was Maharashtra that actually gave the film a historic success. He said, 'My Maharashtra has saved the Hindi film industry, remember this. Today Chhaava is doing well. 80 percent credit for this goes to Maharashtra. Actually 90 percent credit goes to Pune and its surrounding areas. Maharashtra can save the film industry.'

The film 'Chhaava' was released on February 14 this year. Apart from Vicky Kaushal, it stars Rashmika Mandanna, Akshay Khanna and Ashutosh Rana. The film was produced by Dinesh Vijayan under the banner of Maddock Films. Chhaava has earned 600 crores in India and 807.6 crores worldwide.
