Mardaani 3: Rani Mukerji Opens Up on Casting and Powerful New Villain
Rani Mukerji on Mardaani 3: Rani Mukerji has praised Mallika Prasad, who plays Amma in 'Mardaani 3'. Find out how she was cast in the film...
The actress who is currently in the news for her upcoming movie 'Mardaani 3' plays the role of Shivani Shivaji Roy. While Rani Mukerji is already in the news, Mallika Prasad, who plays the role of 'Amma' in the movie, has been in the news since the trailer of the movie was released. Now, let us see what Rani Mukerji has to say about Mallika Prasad.
During a conversation with the New Indian Express, Rani spoke about the film's casting process. She revealed that Aditya Chopra always has the final say. The actress said, "I don't think he selects actors based on who they are or where they come from." Apart from them, there's also Shanoo, the casting director, the director, and others. It has to be perfect for everyone.
Praising Mallika Prasad, Rani said, "I think Mallika's acting was the most important thing for her. She perfectly fits the role of Amma. She's also a highly skilled theater artist, which further enhanced her performance. Amma's terrifying image stems from restraint, intelligence, and psychological control. 'Mardaani' has always been known for its powerful villains. From Tahir Raj Bhasin in the first film to Vishal Jethwa in the sequel, the bar for villains has remained high. With Amma, the franchise takes a new turn. She's a vicious beggar-turned-mafia queen who runs a vast child trafficking network."
