Renowned film director Ram Gopal Varma appeared before the police in Andhra Pradesh's Prakasam district on Friday. He was questioned in connection with his social media post against Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and other leaders. The director was accused of posting objectionable content.
Some cases were registered against Ram Gopal Varma in Andhra Pradesh last year. He is alleged to have posted morphed pictures of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and his family members in an objectionable manner on social media.
Ram Gopal Varma was already sent a notice, in which he was directed to appear for questioning in these cases. According to PTI, under this, he appeared before the investigating officer at Ongole police station. At present, the investigation of this case is going on continuously.
Earlier, Ram Gopal Varma was granted anticipatory bail by the Andhra Pradesh High Court after a case was registered against him for his objectionable social media posts about CM Chandrababu Naidu and others.
