According to reports, the actor’s body was found by a family member at his residence in Pyeongtaek on Thursday. An investigation into the actor’s death has been initiated. The agency representing the actor, Korea Management Group (KMG), issued a statement, "We have seen the news and are currently trying to understand the situation."
The actor's death has come as a shock to his fans. One fan wrote on X, paying tribute to him, that the actor had lost his father in recent years. Subsequently, his mother and sister also died in a traffic accident. He had been taking medication for depression for a long time.
A few years ago, Lee was implicated in a drug case in which he was accused of using illegal drugs. However, in 2022, he was cleared of the charges. It was determined that the actor had not used any illegal drugs, but was merely taking prescription medication for depression.
