Actress Soha Ali Khan is currently not active in films but is often active on social media, entertaining fans with her social media posts. Soha spoke about her mother, Sharmila Tagore, and how the family rallied behind her and tried to help her in every possible way. She expressed sympathy for cancer patients and their families, saying that it's a battle that requires immense physical and mental courage.

Furthermore, Soha's own mother, Sharmila Tagore, shocked her fans when she revealed that she had battled lung cancer during the pandemic. Recently, her daughter Soha Ali Khan recalled that period and spoke about her fears, saying that 'untimely death' was her biggest fear. Soha lost her father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi, in 2011. He was 70 years old.

In a conversation with Nayandeep Rakshit on his YouTube channel, Soha was asked if she was more worried about her mother since she had already lost a parent. She said, "My biggest fear is premature death and the loss of loved ones because you can handle everything else, but these are the things that affect me the most and I think about them all the time. I am grateful that at least when it comes to things like cancer, or lung cancer, the most important thing is prevention and detection, and that happened very early."

In a previous conversation with the same channel, Soha revealed that Sharmila did not have to undergo chemotherapy after her diagnosis. She said, "With my mother, she was one of the very few people who was diagnosed with lung cancer at stage zero, and no chemotherapy, nothing. It was cut off from her and she, touchwood, is fine."

Earlier, on Koffee with Karan, director Karan Johar shared that he wanted Sharmila to be a part of the love story of Rocky and Rani. He offered her the role that was eventually played by Shabana Azmi. Sharmila revealed, "It was at the height of COVID. They hadn't really dealt with COVID at that time, we weren't vaccinated. After my cancer... they didn't want me to take another risk." But now, Sharmila Tagore is doing fine.
