Mumbai, August 17, 2025 — The Shri Mukesh Patel Auditorium at NMIMS Campus, Vile Parle West, came alive with patriotic fervor as Bollywood actress and philanthropist Tanishaa S Mukerji graced SVKM J.V. Parekh International School’s Jashn-e-Bharat as chief guest and dance judge. The inter-clan cultural festival, held to honor India’s 79th Independence Day, showcased students’ talents through vibrant group singing, recitation, and dance performances, each brimming with national pride and artistic brilliance.
A deeply moving moment unfolded when students performed songs from classic films produced by Tanishaa’s grandfather, the legendary filmmaker Shashadhar Mukerji. This touching tribute to her family’s cinematic legacy, intertwined with the celebration of India’s cultural heritage, left Tanishaa visibly emotional, adding a personal layer to the event’s patriotic spirit.
Clad in elegant ethnic attire, Tanishaa brought warmth and enthusiasm to the dance competition, where she served as a judge. Her presence drew enthusiastic cheers from students, parents, and faculty, who appreciated her genuine engagement with the young performers. Taking time to encourage them, she praised their efforts in showcasing Indian values through art. “Events like Jashn-e-Bharat spark a love for our nation and inspire a generation to express freedom through creativity and unity,” Tanishaa said in her address, also commending the teachers for guiding students in bringing India’s vibrant spirit to life.
