The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has banned Ekta Kapoor's Alt app. But this interview of hers was recorded before the ban, in which the producer discussed her app. Regarding launching the Alt app with bold content, Ekta Kapoor said that only bad girls make history. Apart from this, Ekta Kapoor also revealed that when she was running this app, more than 100 cases were registered against her.
In an interview given to Fair D'Souza, Ekta Kapoor said about this bold content app, she had to face a lot of difficulties to run it. People used to come to protest outside her house. Ekta also shared an anecdote. She said, 'People were protesting outside the house and throwing things at the house. I had gone on vacation. My son was inside the house. I could not understand what was happening inside'.
Ekta Kapoor said in the conversation that she started this app as a bold, positive content app. Her aim was to talk openly on this subject in society. The aim was to make it normal. Ekta said, 'I had eight girls. I said that we are going to launch Alt Balaji and you all will curate its content. We will show the world that this subject can be talked about openly. We are risk takers'. Ekta further said, 'However, things did not go as planned. We ourselves did not understand when and how everything went wrong'.
