The impact of artificial intelligence is growing day by day, and people have many serious apprehensions about it. However, famous lyricist and scriptwriter Javed Akhtar is of the view that no artificial intelligence can replace natural creativity. According to him, AI has limitations; it is based on data alone.
Speaking at a literacy festival, Javed Akhtar said, "I cannot say what the future holds. But for now, I am confident that AI can in no way replace human creativity. AI has no brain. It depends on how you use it." Citing the example of nuclear energy, he said it can be used for both good and bad purposes.
The lyricist further stated that resources in AI are not bad. If you look back in history, people were afraid of all innovations, even the steam engine, calling it the devil's vehicle. Currently, AI has limitations and relies on data. What the future holds cannot be predicted. Describing language, culture, mythology, poetry, and art as great resources, he said that when India gained independence, the country couldn't even make a needle, but today it has become one of the most industrialized countries in the world.
Javed Akhtar was honored at a literary festival inaugurated by Odisha Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati. He was presented with the first SOA Literary Award. The award includes a citation, a shawl, a silver statue of Goddess Saraswati, and a cash prize of ₹7 lakh.
