Akshaye Khanna sets a major record, surpassing only Shah Rukh Khan; Prabhas and Allu Arjun trail behind

Akshaye Khanna is trending for his successful new film "Dhurandhar" just released. In this film, he portrayed the character of Pakistani gangster "Rehman Dacoit". This character was thoroughly admired by his fans. Before this film, Akshaye performed in another film named "Chava" in 2025. In it, he acted as Aurangzeb. This performance was greatly admired by everyone.
Both of Akshaye Khanna's films performed exceptionally well at the box office. "Chava" grossed over ₹800 crore worldwide, becoming the third highest-grossing Indian film of 2025. Meanwhile, "Dhurandhar," released on December 5th and still running in theaters, has crossed the ₹1,100 crore mark worldwide.
"Dhurandhar" has become one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. With its success, Akshaye Khanna became the second Indian actor, after Shah Rukh Khan, to cross the ₹2,000 crore mark at the box office in a single year.
Akshay Khanna has now reached a position previously held by only Khans. Until now, only Shah Rukh Khan had crossed the ₹2,000 crore mark in a single year. His 2023 releases, "Pathan," "Jawaan," and "Dunky," together earned ₹2,685 crore worldwide.
Besides him, other stars like Prabhas and Allu Arjun have also come close to this mark. "Baahubali 2" and "Pushpa 2" grossed over ₹1,700 crore. Ranbir Kapoor may have a chance to join this club with his upcoming films "Ramayana" and "Love and War."
