The Indian actress Shefali Shah was candid about being a mom and parenting her two boys. This was discussed on the Lilly Singh podcast. She was quizzed about dealing with the "alpha male" and "traditional wife" mindset when bringing up two boys. The actress said, "Our daughters will only be safe if our sons are raised properly. I thought of something I told them, and I think it applies to everyone: Treat others the way you would expect to be treated. It's really simple. There's nothing more and nothing less."
Shefali Shah continued, "Everything else... is a lot of noise. Would you like to be treated that way? No? Then don't do that to anyone else." Shefali Shah also spoke about the limits of parental control and the uncertainty that comes with raising children, as they eventually form their own opinions. She said, "Have I succeeded? I'll only know when they're 30."
Regarding her two sons, Shefali said, "They're growing up. They'll have their own opinions." They want to prove everything wrong that any elder, any parent, or any mother says. If they behave badly, I won't take responsibility for it. I can't. I tried my best. They have their own mind. I did the best I could. I think they turned out pretty well." Shefali Shah is married to filmmaker Vipul Amrutlal Shah. The couple has two sons, Aryaman and Maurya.
