Venkat Narayanan Appointed Tamil Nadu's Special Representative in New Delhi; BJP Raises Language and Eligibility Concerns
Venkat Narayan: The Tamil Nadu government has appointed KVN Productions founder and producer Venkat Narayanan as its government representative, a move that has drawn criticism from the Tamil Nadu BJP.
Tamil Nadu government has appointed the film producer Venkat Narayanan as the special representative of the state in New Delhi. BJP has reacted negatively to this decision.
This is an appointment order for a one-year tenure that begins from June 23, and carries the status of a minister. Venkat Narayanan is a qualified chartered accountant and law graduate who began his production house named KVN Productions in Bengaluru.
Venkat Narayanan is also the producer of the latest film made by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay named “Jana Nayakan”. This film has not been released yet due to certification issues.
Expressing surprise at this appointment, Tamil Nadu BJP chief Nainar Nagendran claimed that Chief Minister Vijay's government had appointed a person who did not know Tamil as the representative of Tamil Nadu.
Nagendran questioned 'X', "How can someone who has no connection to Tamil Nadu be entrusted with such a crucial responsibility as acting as a bridge between the Central Government and the Tamil Nadu Government? How can someone who does not fully understand our mother tongue, Tamil, or our Tamil culture, represent the views of the people of Tamil Nadu and the voice of the Tamil Nadu Government in Delhi? Was this done because he was the producer of the Chief Minister's film, or is it due to pressure from the Congress?"
