Koffee with Karan has always done best when things go off script, and its latest moment came from someone who wasn't even on the couch. Karisma Kapoor picked up a call from her younger sister Kareena Kapoor Khan without knowing that the conversation was going out on speakerphone in the middle of a live shoot.
The call was part of one of the show's game segments. Guests had to phone celebrities and get them to say, "Hi Karan, it's me," to earn points. Kareena dialled her sister, and what came next was far funnier than the game.
Kareena opened casually: "What's up? What's happening? What's the news?" Karisma answered just as casually, "I am just watching you and Mira. Everyone's like what's going on?"
She was talking about the latest episode of What Women Want, Kareena's own talk show, which had featured Mira Rajput. Kareena seemed to sense where the chat was going and tried to steer it: "What's going on means, what do you mean? She came on my show na, on What Women Want."
Before Karisma could say more, Karan jumped in: "No, no, you are Koffee with Karan, don't say any more." A clearly caught-out Karisma replied, "Oh no, how can you do this to me?"
Why This Moment Is Working With Fans
The clip feels real. Celebrity talk shows are often heavily rehearsed, and this exchange caught Karisma in an everyday moment of chatting with her sister about something she'd just watched. Her teasing emphasis on Mira's name made it sound like she had more to say, and that half-finished thought is what has fans talking.
It also shows how close the Kapoor sisters are. Bollywood fans have long enjoyed how Karisma and Kareena tease each other, and this call showed that off without any setup.
The Talk-Show Crossover
The moment also links two celebrity talk shows. Mira Rajput had recently appeared on What Women Want, and the episode drew attention mainly because Mira is married to Shahid Kapoor, whom Kareena once dated. On the show, Mira spoke warmly about Shahid and described him as a supportive father to their children as well as a husband and partner.
So when Karisma mentioned that episode on Koffee with Karan, she connected the two shows on air. That kind of overlap gets people talking across platforms. Whether Karan stepped in to protect Karisma or to save the moment for the show, the clip now works as promotion for both.
Celebrity content today is often polished and tightly controlled, so a few seconds of unplanned candour can do more than a scripted segment. Karisma's line, "how can you do this to me?", has quickly become one of the most talked-about moments of the season. It shows why Koffee with Karan, many seasons in, still knows how to get people talking.
